Castlevania: Lament of Innocence speedruns focus on movement and efficient combat. Leon, Joachim and Pumpkin have their own separate categories and unique playstyles. The runs feature heavy usage of many mobility-based sub-weapons abilities with full stock of extremely broken items. This wiki focuses mainly on the NTSC version of the game since the Item Duplication does not work in PAL. A Run without Item Duplication is not invested much and would potentially explored in the future. This game goes by In Game Time instead of the usual RTA for speedruns. This is because In Game Time pauses any time the game is loading, which allows runners to play on any platform they have access to (PS3 and Emulator players have a non-trivial advantage in terms of load times, which going by IGT eliminates). RTA is decent as a ballpark figure for determining whether a run is ahead or behind.

Information

Leon

Leon runs feature the most usage of items as well as the most quick kills of various bosses.

Joachim

Joachim is very slow compared to Leon and Pumpkin because he is very limited in terms of resource.

Pumpkin

Pumpkin runs start at full speed and never slow down. Very heavy in execution and extremely merciless due to his low hp
